    Hi, everyone. I've decided to quit beating myself up about my weight. I've done Atkins before and knew that it would help with the overwhelming cravings for food. This is it. I'm tired of being fat. No excuses this time. Wish me luck.

      Thanks, I will check them out. I need a little variety cause I'm a really picky eater. As I get older, my tastes have changed and meat is not very appealing to me anymore.

        Hello Kacowan!

        Welcome to the board! We are really happy to have you with us! We do wish you much luck, that link that Mary gave you has a wide variety of recipe's to cater to your needs. I'm a little concerned that you're not much of a meat eater...as the protein that you will be taking in would be coming from that. Perhaps try various types of meats that you haven't done before....just a thought. Anyway, this plan is so easy to follow, I'm hoping that yoou have your DANDR book handy, it might not hurt to review it, also be sure to jump around the forums, and read the sticky's lots of great info there too! Please feel free to post, and ask questions, and we'll all be happy to assist where we can, this board it full of happy healthy people striving to make the lifestyle change! Good Luck and hope to see you around! Keep us posted on your progress too!

          Thanks for the advise, Scooter. I realize that it will be a challenge for me since I don't like meat, but I'm committed. I'm an old Atkin's dieter from back in the 70's and I'm excited to get started. Today wasn't bad and if I can remember correctly, it only gets easier. Thanks again.

                Kacowan, welcome to ADBB.

                One thing to keep in mind, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution copyrighted in 2002 is a MUCH MUCH MUCH different version than what you did in the 70's. So, make sure you get the new book and read it.

                In the meantime make sure that you read this thread about the rules of induction:
