  • Sticking to Atkins and Loving it!

Hello everyone! This is my first time posting a thread, and I want to make a few points about this website in general. First, and foremost, I am proud to be here and think the ADBB is a GREAT idea. I love being able to read others success stories and stay motivated. I have only been doing Atkins 4 days now, but I can already tell a difference.

My father who started out at 283 lbs. did atkins over two years ago and reached his goal of 225lbs. quickly. I know how dedicated he was to it and I want to do the same. I now stays around 240lbs. on his 6'2" frame and is at a "comfortable" level for him. His trigs are low, cholesterol great, and bp good. I saw first-hand how this diet works!

That's why I am doing it! I have been a heavy guy my entire life but now I am dedicated to doing atkins for life. I am an ex-football player and do not need to be a big heavy lineman anymore. I have no need to intake the amnt. of food I used to, and I especially need to improve my overall health, not to mention boost my confidence as a single guy!

Secondly, I hope that I get to know a few of you soon and it looks like this website is great for encouragement at any point and for any phase. I just wanted to introduce myself and hope you all have a great weekend!!

    Thanks!

Welcome Kevin! Good choice in coming to ADBB! It's a truly great site with very caring people to support you the whole way!

We do have a Men's Forum, if you're interested. It's by permission only so you could PM administrator richt and he can give you access. There's been a flurry of new men on board, which is great!

Yo Kevin buddy what's up! Hey man, congratulations to your dad first off for his success! (contrary to what my 17 year old son thinks....) our parents do know things!! Woo Hoo.

Secondly, it's great to have you here with us. Hey, bounce around to all the forums and check things out, have you also thought about an exercise plan, being an ex-football guy, I'm sure you have something in mind.....

a thought....since you're just getting started check out this thread....sign up for the 20/24 challenge, it looks pretty fun, I just signed up tonight! 20 minutes of dedicated exercise, honors before you even finish your first week of induction...........sweeeeeeeeet! Gotta love this site....(thanks jimmie 48!)

anyway, it is awesome to have you with us. Like I said, check out all the forums and read those sticky's they have lots of useful info in them, or...just give Dad a call, and I'm sure he can help you too. Doing this plan is always easier when you have a buddy!

Stay in touch and we want to hear about your progress!!
