  • Hi... this is Day 2 and I really need help!

    Hi everyone.

I actually started my induction yesterday, by accident really. I've been thinking about trying Atkins for a long time now. Yesterday about noon I realized that everything I had eaten so far was Atkins legal, so what better day to start than right then!

I've been on countless diets and always gained it all back. But I'm so tired of that and feel like I've wasted so much time and energy. I'm an emotional eater and when things go wrong, food is what I run to. Since my life is such a turmoil all the time it seems, I've eaten my way up to almost 240 pounds.

I've been checking out the board with all the great information and recipes and it seems like this is the place for me.

    Please wish me luck!

Hiiii! What a great way to start!! Some of us have to struggle daily with Atkins and some of us it just comes natural and we crave the food we're allowed to eat. I too was almost 240 Febuary 2006 Ive been on and off a few times but Im stickin to my guns this time!! I found diets are a waste of my time too, Atkins is the only thing that works for me. This site rocks!!! There isnt any way possible that I could have done it without all of the help and support here! You'll do great!!

Hi, Laceylyn. I'm really looking forward to this. A little scared about eating all these foods. I feel like I'm doing something wrong! But very encouraged by all the good results.

        Thanks for the welcome!

It does feel wrong doesn't it?! Here's another link from Scooter *blows kisses* to get us newbies started: http://www.fitday.com/ Go and put in your foods, and journal, and make progress charts and everything. I was stunned yesterday at the numbers that came up when I did my food intake for the day!

Hi, Dream and welcome! I'm new here too. I started on Tuesday and I've lost 3.4 lbs already. You're right about thinking it can't be true...the food is amazing. I'm going to a fancy steakhouse tonight and I can't believe I can eat caesar salad, filet mignon with bearnaise sauce, and creamed spinach...and it's DIET FOOD!

Be sure and check out the FAQs forum. There's tons of helpful info there. Don't be discouraged if you feel crummy for a couple of days...headache, nausea, etc. I felt kind of rotten yesterday but woke up this morning bursting with energy!!

                  Gotta run...good luck!

                  First mini-goal - to get below 190!

Hi Dream! Welcome to the board. I love the way you started so spontaneously. What a great way to start this journey. Sometimes we all deny and analyze way too much. Someone once told me 'analysis is paralysis'. So good for you for biting the bullet and just going for it!

                              Howdy Dream!!

Thanks for introducing yourself! What a great start you have, congratulations. I know it's really kinda bizarre after hoping around from diet to diet to eat things like steak, chicken with the skin, heavy cream, butter.....I mean.....BUTTER Yikes! But I swear to you it works. And it's so much more than alot of people criticize, with "Oh dear, you're doing that Bacon and Eggs Atkin diet, it'll never work".

So hear I am, 70 pounds lighter (still pushing forward) not even a year later (close but not yet....!) and I'm into this stronger and more focused than ever. And, my buddies here at this wonderful site, just gave me the awesome task of welcoming new people like yourself!! Life is good!

Example, tonight for dinner, sauted mushrooms, tilapia fish fillet, spinach salad with cheese, tomato, cucumbers, bacon, and a touch of pork rinds (crushed up they make tiny little croutons haha), my own home-made creamy italian dressing and a big ice cold glass of club soda with a splash of Vanilla Sugar Free Syrup for dessert! It doesn't get much better than that....actually, due to http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html it does get even better.
