This is a fantastic place to get knowledge, participate in challenges, share through posts and journals, and get motivated with inspirational stories/photos from others who are making it happen.
Do you have the book? If not, it is one of the most important tools for doing the Atkins weight loss program. Read it. Dr. Atkins tells you exactly how it works, what to do and gives medical and nutritional advice that will reinforce this WOE.
Check out the posts in the Induction forum here at the ADBB, there in information there to get you started and keep you focused. Make plans to succeed together. Plan your foods, exercise,(check out the 20/24 challenge in the challenge forum for starters), water, supplements and write out why you want to lose the weight. Take your weight and your measurements. (good idea to also have before pictures) so that you can see the progress.
Get active here in the board and make lots of friends to help keep you both motivated. Best wishes to you both! Keep us posted on your progress and if you have any questions...just holler. Everyone here is very friendly and wants to see you succeed.Starting Date 3/12/04 285/165/145 - F

Hi Siohandawn ! Welcome aboard. Read around the induction forum and the FAQ's as well. There's plenty of information there to get you started on a clean induction.
Come join the 20/24 challenge, which starts tomorrow and is a commitment to do 20 minutes of exercise on March 12.

Re: need help
Good Morning Siohandawn,
Wow what a weekend! It's so nice to have the both of you with us! Thanks for coming to the board. You will find so much helpful information here, and such a great group of people as well. You were asking for some help with getting started, most importantly as Becky says, make sure you have a copy of the book, make sure you both read it. It's really cool that you have someone willing to do this plan with you, it's easy for one person, but it's twice as easy for two!!
That being said, I want to give you some tools that might helpful soften the blow a bit so to speak, first off don't forget to implement your exercise regime, just a few minutes everyday to start with will really help...so check out this thread http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard....ead.php?t=41332, all you have to do is this- Sign up in this thread
- Commit to doing 20 minutes of exercise in one 24 hour period.
- Tell us what exericse you're going to do
- Live up to your commitment
- Post your achievement
- Earn the award
Most likely, you're going to want to track what you eat, and track your weight loss as well, most folks around here use www.fitday.com it's a FREE program online, and you enter different foods you eat, and note weight change, etc. If you need help using it don't be afraid to ask.
Now most importantly, you're going to want to eat good. no diet this, or diet that here, that's for sure....you'll be eating like a King and Queen, check out this site http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html and you'll be amazed at what you can create.
This plan is so easy, and it is wonderful to have you both with us! Make sure you drink lots of water too. That is a step that a lot of people forget about, check out all the forums, find the ones that work for you, and keep us posted on your progress, always share your progress, others gain motivation and determination while reading your posts!!
Looking forward to hearing about your success,
Your host,
