  • Day 2 cravings & munchies--Help!!

    I had salami & cheese for breakfast. Salami and string cheese for lunch. Eggs & bacon for snack at 3pm. I had shrimp & veggies for dinner at 7pm. I was still hungry so I had some egg salad at 830pm.

    Now I am watching a movie, my wife is eating popcorn (i hate popcorn unless it is the slimy movie theatre kind)

    But I have the munchies help!

    How about some crunchy veggies? Or if you have pepperoni, put it in the microwave for a few seconds to crisp it up. Let it drain on a paper towel for a few minutes and you end up with great pepperoni chips.

          Don't forget you need 3 cups of veggies a day. Two cups a day from the salad veggie list and one cup from the other list. The second list has more carbs so those are limited to one cup a day during induction.

          Radishes are on the salad list though so you can eat two cups.

            Drink a big glass of room temp water, 16 oz or more. That will help also!!! Be careful on that salami too, most of them have hidden sugar, that could be working against you, and make sure your bacon is not cured with sugar, that as well could be working against you, Dream is correct (thank you Dream) make sure you're taking in all 3 cups of your veggies.

            seriously, a few radishes, with a tablespoon or two of dressing (make sure no sugar added) and a big glass of water, it'll pass!

              Are pork rinds still allowed? When I did AD about 7 years ago I ate those when I needed a "crunch".

              Not sure if they're allowed during induction???

                I ate pork rinds during induction, and you are right..they sure curb the crunch craving!

                    Watch out for things that are loaded with sodium (salami, pork rinds). They can cause lots of water retention.

                    Re the veggies... yes, three cups a day. It's best if those three cups are spread out throughout the day.
