  • New to Atkins

    I am slightly familiar with the Atkins program and have been reading through as much as I can here.... but, could you direct me please (i've been looking) to the correct forum topic that gives me what people are eating on a day-to-days basis?

    I am currently at 185 after quitting smoking and gaining 25 - 30 lbs. My ultimate goal is 135, but my short-term goals are 150.

    Hi... welcome to ADBB! And... congratulations on giving up smoking!

    What you are eating depends on the phase of Atkins you are at: Induction, Ongoing Weight Loss, Pre-maintenance or Maintenance. If you go to the various forums for each phase, you should get an idea of what people are eating.

    Also, if you read the posts in the Review My Menu forum that should give you a good idea of how you should eat. There's also the FAQ section and the food forums.

    All this though, cannot take the place of reading the book: "Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution" (DANDR). This board goes by the 2002 edition which is the last one Dr A wrote in its entirety. As you can imagine, it's fundamental for the success of this diet, to understand the science behind it.

      Hi ontheroadagain! Good for you for quitting smoking. Now that you've got a handle on that, it's time to get a handle on your eating. As you read around the board, in the Induction Forum and FAQ's and Review my Menu, you will get some great ideas as to what to eat. This way of eating (WOE) doesn't have to be boring at all!
