    Hello all,
I am 7 days in and have been really good, I weighed 1 week ago, I'm not sure I zero out the scale but it says I've gained 1 pound, I FEEL SMALLER! I look a little smaller but my HEAD is playing games with me. I am not going to give up, I just need some words... BTW... The pics are inspiring, I took some before's that I will post as soon as I have a during.

    Welcome Powergirl!

Put away the scale...it lies and messes with your head. If you feel smaller then you are succeeding. Also make sure to check your inches lost...its common to lose inches before the weight comes off on the scale.

Best of luck on your weight loss journey and if you need anything just give a shout!

I really need to do that! I keep forgetting the tape. I have just felt really good and serious about this this time and I don't want to get discouraged.

Powergirl welcome! It's cool that you've found us here at ADBB.

Jace is absolutely right... the scale can be a monster. You can sometimes actually gain weight but lose inches.
Do measure yourself... the tape measure is far more reliable than the scale.

Don't worry about a small gain... how you feel is the true indication of how you're getting on. If you eat the way you're supposed to, exercise and drink masses of water, sooner or later the weight will come off.

If you are worried, you can always post a few menus in the "Review my Menu" forum. There are plenty of knowledgeable people around who will tell you if something needs tweaking.

Keep us posted on your progress. Happy Atkineering!

Hi powergirl! Welcome to the board. Step away from the scale! At least through induction. There's usually a No Scale Challenge going on, you might join up the next time they do it. I know how hard it is to give up that contraption! You can do it.

ok, I'm going to the store today for the tape, as my daughter is on this with me and she is 15 she is on day 4 and I want her to stay encouraged as well. I weigh 290 now and have a while to go so I guess I'll just leave the scale alone until I have to buy a new wardrobe.

I have been a powerlifter, am really good at it but have lost the drive, I have recently been trying to hang out with my gym rat pals lately, although inconsistant, I will continue to drag myself to the gym when I can... Thanks for the fine words!
