  • I'm new here!

Hi all! I'm new to this forum and will need all the support I can get! I was very successful with Atkins, starting in 2002. During the Cmas season of 2005, I started eating sugar again and here I am 20 lbs heavier. I'm ashamed of myself, embarassed at my lack of control, etc., which has made things worse. I started reading thru this forum today and thought...I CAN DO THIS. So...I'm glad to be here and look forward to being a part of the STAC.

Congrats on finding your way back. However bad you feel about your past decisions you should be amazingly proud of yourself for realizing your mistake and taking the right steps now. I'm excited to see your success!

        Re: I'm new here!

Warm welcome to you Huggija! Glad you've joined our Atkins family.

Don't feel ashamed... so many of us have "lost the way" for a while, only to find it again and to then go on to reach goal. Look to the future. If you focus steadily on your goal (especially in moments of difficulty) I'm sure you'll be able to add yourself to our huge number of Atkins successes. It's what I wish for you.

Keep us posted and good luck!

You go girl! Your absolutely right....YOU CAN DO THIS! We all fail time to time. We aren't perfect. (Uh...hem....just read my stats. I can relate! I am up 22 pounds and said that I would deal with it if I had a 5 pound gain!) Welcome, and the other thing that hit me is that if you have been off of the wagon since Christmas of '05 and only have re-gained 20 pounds, I would say you aren't doin' too bad. Be firm enough with yourself to stay on track, but gentle enough on yourself to forgive your mistakes and pick yourself up and move on!

Gained back 22 pounds and dealing with it...instead of it dealing with me!!

            Welcome back to Atkins!

So glad that you decided to return...just remember that the important thing is that you are back...a lot of people don't make it back after falling off and I applaud anyone who does realize where they went wrong and jumps back on the wagon...truly admirable!

Best of luck on your weight loss journey and if you need anything just give a shout!

              Re: I'm new here!

Thanks for all the encouragement. I started my food journal this morning and am DETERMINED. I read an article a few weeks ago about Atkins only having 'one golden time' and that really got me discouraged. Basically it said it only works once, so fuhgetaboudit. I took it to heart (obviously) and now I see many that have done it twice (or more) and been successful. So to that article, I say...

                Re: I'm new here!

                Janer,

Definately do not feel ashamed!!! I most definately took a tumble off the wagon this past Christmas for about 6 weeks! It was awful. But with the help of this board and lots of wonderful friends here, I was able to re-focus, re-think, re-dedicate my life to the way of eating (WOE). You can do the same! One thing that really helped me was the Second Time Around Club! (Forum) Come over and introduce yourself. We can talk about what tempted you in the first place, and find ways to 'curb' that temptation.

Anyway, it's very wonderful to meet you, and thanks for posting. We look forward to hearing more of your success!!! Good job for starting the journal.
Oh yes 'fuhgetaboudit' (I love that, I say that all the time...haha) The 'one golden shot' hardly applies. Induction was harder the second time around, but everything fell right in place and the weight loss has been pretty steady!!

                Best wishes!
