    Hi!

I'm Juli; I've lurked, on and off, for a few years. Now it's time to get started!

For me, weight loss is a big mental/will power thing. So, to ease into this WOE, for the past two weeks I have been completely "bad-carb" free, eating non-processed foods (with the exception of some cheese and yogurt; starting today the yogurt is gone), and I have been keeping on top of my water intake. I've done and been successful on Atkins before, but I normally quit after about 15-20 pounds. Thankfully, though, I haven't gained back the weight. One good thing.

My highest was immediately after giving birth: 254
A few weeks after giving birth: leveled off at 240. For my ticker (and motivation) I'm starting at 240 for my SW.
Until about 2 weeks ago, I was holding steady at 210-215.
In the past 2 weeks, without processed foods, I'm down to 200.
Before my 1st child was born, I was right around 175-180.
How low do I want to go? BMI-wise, I am aiming for <164 (I'm 5'8"); I'll get more specific once I get closer.

I've been upping the exercise, which is a bit hard (though not completely impossible) because I have two children, one of them being a clingy almost-2-year-old who will not give me the time right now. I'm lucky if I can get in about 15 minutes at a time.

You all have been an inspiration to me, and I continue to read the posts to keep myself motivated!

kgsmom2: What ever do you do for exercise? Do you just have to wait until someone is available to care for your child? We've been going to the walking track at the park, but with two tiny ones, they get tired around .75-1 mile, and I would like to walk a considerable amount more.

sallyseachange: Thanks for the motivation. Seeing that you have reached your goal proves that I can do it too. You look great!

dreamof145: Thanks for the welcome! My children love to run around the house. My daughter will run from one end of the house to the other screaming "Aaaaaaahhhhhh!" So I started running around with them. But I don't scream

sillygirl: Things have been going great so far. I wasn't expecting to lose a tremendous amount of weight through induction, because, like I already said in my original post, I had lost most of my 'water weight' the week prior when I was sans processed. Nevertheless, I'm already down 10 pounds!

That, combined with all you people on this board, has been a major inspiration and motivational tool. Thanks to everyone!

              Re: Here goes

I get a babysitter 2 times a week, but I know that is not enough. Some how I need to do more. It is hard to fit it in. My husband is gone a lot so I can't get up early and go or go at night because he is not home. I just signed up for a major challenge and I am not sure how I am going to complete it.

Hello Juli, welcome to the spotlight!! Scooter, your humble host at your service. Congrats on the 10 pound loss so far, excellent!

I just wanted to make sure you had your copy of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) to make sure you're following the plan to the T. I saw that you had mentioned yogurt and such, (not on induction, but I also saw you stopped it too ) remember, that book is the blueprint to get the ball rolling so to speak and make sure it keeps picking up momentum as it goes along.

I'd love to share some links and threads that I hope you will find helpful:
