Hi, I was here for a long time a couple of years ago and did well on Atkins. I recieved loads of support and information. Best of all I made good friends. Unfortunately, as life sometimes does I got swept away in moves, family stuff and busy busy kids. I lost touch, stopped back in about a year ago but again the world was busier then my need for support. So here I am back again. Why? Well, primarily because of the people. I am choosing not to do this on my own because the people here know what they are talking about and help keep your head on straight. I'm sorry for loosing touch for so long.
Now some background. I did Atkins, lost alot of weight. Had another baby, gained alot of weight. Did weight watchers, took up running, lost alot of weight. Had some allergic reactions and now I am befuddled in the eating arena and slowly finding myself eating way to much to maintain a healthful body image/life. Among my allergies....wheat, soy, nuts, peanuts, melon, pears, fruits in that same pollen family, and shrimp. So where does that leave me.....with lettuce and meat. LOL. Yep, see my dilema...in attempting to rid these common well relied upon foods from my adopted program I am going nuts (not litterally my throat would close up).
I am turning to my old friend Atkins as a solution for getting me over the hump. I am getting rid of all the excesses on a full time basis and slowly through the program going to reintroduce some of them healthily, rather that trying to take them away haphazard and replacing them with desperate chocolate fixes and loaded potatoes. So, that is were I am. I look forward to getting to know you all and seeing new friends.
