Hi, I have been around the board for a few months now and on and off atkins several time(never making it past the first week). I thought this time I would sign up and start posting and maybe it will help. Atkins is a tough for me because I am not a huge meat eater but I decided to just resign myself to this, meaning this is the way I eat now and that is that. One would think if I can get up at 2:30am everyday that I could do anything but food is a bigger enemy-LOL. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and start to become involved with this board and not just silently watch.

    OH and ALSO

I also wanted to say Thanks to JoanOH for her words last time I posted ( I have since deleted the entry). I was having a vulnerable day and don't usual open up so much which is why I deleted it the next day. I did appreciate what you said though. Also, yes I am from Salem. Its funny to see someone from where you live on a board with so many different people.

I'm not the most major meat eater either, but I have to say there are bazillions of ways to make meat so palatable that you'll really anjoy eating it!

      Welcome to regular posting!

      Nice to meet you.

Thanks, I know I can have fish and stuff also. In fact if I could afford to eat lobster everyday that would solve the problem!!!!

          Hi !

If you like seafood, thats a plus. How about eggs?
If you can get past the first 2 or 3 weeks you may get used to it since the cravings vanish.
Hang in there, you can do it !!!

Welcome. I'm sure that posting and making friends here in the ADBB will help you. When I became a member, I met another lady here. We started emailing each other and became best friends. We shared our up and down days and got through the hard times as well as celebrated the good times together. Now, 9 months later...she is almost to goal and I am getting closer every week. The people here are fantastic for support and encouragment.

I am not a big meat eater myself, I usually eat different types of salads, casseroles, egg dishes, chicken and tuna. Occassionally I have pork or beef. Atkins has so many great veggies, fish and poultry meals. Check in the recipe section and your sure to find some dishes that you enjoy.

Good luck, look forward to reading about your success in your future posts!

Thanks everyone. I do like meat I just mean it isn't on of my favorite things to eat. If I had to choose between a steak and mac & cheese the pasta wins everytime which of course is the problem-lol. I do have veggie issues also. I really don't like many. Mostly cucumbers and lettuce and green beans (corn and raw carrots which are no nos). Thats about it but I am going to try the recipies this time around to avoid getting bored again. I usually just have meat and a salad for meals and that gets old fast. I say to myself "darn it I am a grown up now & I will eat my veggies"-hehe So as you can see this is a challenge for me (as everyone else). I have lost weight doing low fat before but.....obviously it didn't stay off, I was hungry all the time, and it came off very slow except when I was taking ephedra pills(before they were banned). Even though I have a hard time with the food I like this because....I am not hungry, it gives me control, and the weight comes off faster.
