  • New guy, new diet, I need it to work!!! I can do it right?

    Good morning all,
I am a 32/m that pretty much sits on my butt most of the day due to the nature of my job. I get home, make dinner, watch tv, surf the net, and then go to bed. That is my routine M-F. I am trying to revitalize myself, inside and out.

In the past, I have dieted using Medical Weight Loss clinics methods which is a low carb diet, but not to the extreme as Atkins. I got to my all time adult-aged low of 188 back in '97. I was athletic all thru school growing up, and worked out a bit up until then. In the past 10 years, my amount of exercise has gone down to nothing. Last week I bought a treadmill, dumbells, and am waiting for the weather to break to ride my mountain bike. Hopefully these tools wil strengthen my core, and build up my cardio.

I am happy I found this place as everyone seems like a bunch of genuine, smart, and friendly people. I hope you will all encourage me along my path to future success, as I will do the same in return to all of you.

I am blessed to be married for 5 years to my high school sweetheart, and as much as I want to do this for me, I also want to do it for her. She has always been in shape and something to look at, but i've gone downhill. I'd like to give her the same pleasure in return.

So here I am, today is the beginning of a new day, and a new me. I plan on posting some before pics in my signature, so you can all montitor my progress and help me along. I have my goal weight in the 170's...I haven't been there since I was 18. I will get there with this diet, and a lot of help from all of you!!

Thank you all in advance for your inspiration, and encouragement!!

Re: New guy, new diet, I need it to work!!! I can do it right?

Thanks to all of you..you are all great!! I plan on swinging by Borders on the way home to pick up a copy of the New Diet Revolution. Then instead of my customary habit of jumping right back on the computer at home, I am going to hop on the treadmill for a bit.

So far as day one has gone, I have had a 2 egg omelet this morning with some chives and cheese. Then for lunch I had a caeser side salad (no croutons or dressing) and a grilled chicken breast from Wendy's (no bun of course.)

For dinner I plan on making some chicken kabobs with some green pepper and onions.

The weather is starting to break a bit here in Michigan, so I hope to be outside more often than not..whether it is talking walks with the wife, or riding our bikes. I've been couped up too much this winter!! I need to get out there and start building a new me!!

Thanks again everyone, you are exactly the support I need!!
