  • The Atkins Diet and Me...

I am 28 year old and have two small children, both hyper active girls (4 and 6). I decided I need to make some changes in my life when I found myself always sluggish after doing the work that needed to be done elsewhere and having not much pep for them. I also want to feel more comfortable. I feel out of place in my body.
New clothes in smaller sizes are always a plus too. I am so happy to found a board like this. The pictures of progress, are truely inspirational.
I started the atkins diet last Wed.- so this wed. will be a week for me. I am doing pretty darn well. Im unfortunately like alot of people a scale watcher, and addicted to ketostix. I have lost almost 9 pounds so far, but I dont feel any different.. I need to lose about 45 pounds total, so Im off to a good start.
I really think this is a life style I can stick to. I have lost my sweet tooth cravings for the most part, and I haven't cheated on my diet yet. We are kinda in a marriage right now I like to think of it. I hold my part of the relationship, and it will do its share. lol

I hope to get to know you all soon. I feel like I already know a few of you, from lurking around the past week. Take care and we can do this!

        Nice to meet ya!
I exercise on my gazelle edge everyday. By the weekend I should have have a stationary cycle too to alternate with so I dont get bored. My kids are into jumping for hours on the trampoline. Ive been joining them there. My girls are trying to teach me new tricks to do on that, but I havent gotten up the courage to try flipping around on that thing. lol I cant wait to have all that energy they do!
