Hi Don, WOW! You have already made some great friends around here. I hope that will help encourage you to come around the board often!

Joy is the jicama queen, julirama is the daikon radish queen! You should try Daikon too, it's not radishy but sweet and has the texture of jicama. Stick around long enough and we will have you eating all kinds of weird veggies!

Hey Don, you know, there's a men's forum on this board. You need access to it, you can PM richt or Lauren for that. Since I've never been there, I have no clue what the guys discuss, but you might want to check it out!

My dad had been in the Coast Guard stationed at Cherry Point, NC during WWII. He and my mom got married during the war, and the lived in Missouri (where my mom was from) until my uncle moved to Orange County in the late 40's and then they followed.

Welcome! I think people who dont think veggies are actually encouraged on this diet, havent really researched Atkins or read the book. lol

Welcome to the boards! Dont forget to take measurements, they can really keep you going when the scale wont budge.

Thanks Cheers2you. I have taken my measurements, but how do you get an accurate measurement when you have to tie two tape measures together? LOL Seriously, I am showing good progress there. I am down 12 inches in my waist, with about 10 more to go.

I had to laugh because my boss said something to me about my weight loss yesterday. First time that I have been called a "Big Fat Loser" and actually liked it!
