  • I Hope I can do this

    Hi everyone so I went on the Atkins diet last year and I lost 55 pounds in about 3 and a half months. Everyone said I looked so good and I knew I did but as time went on I started to eat the way I used to drink soda well a couple weeks ago i bought a scale and omg I have gained 35 pounds and it's funny cause I really didnt even notice that i was gaining this much weight back>Needless to say since than I have tried to go back to Atkins tried and bought the foods and planned my meals and I just cant do it.It is so hard I dont no why. I was not this hard last time I mean last year i was drinking a 12 pack a coke everyday and eating burger king b4 work and mcdonalds for dinner and i stopped it all and lost now it's like I cant even do it!!! I am so frustrated.
    The people around me say oh you still look good My boyfriend tells me he loves me the way I am but I am not happy with how I look at all. Please help

    try it for today!!! and see what tomorrow brings! we are all here with a similiar story. you CAN do this

      girl are you my clone? i lost 70 pounds a few years back, met my fiance a little over a year ago and gained him and 30 pounds...it is harder this time for me too but...

      you are in the right place. spend some time and read all the success stories here. especially the second time arounders!! you will find lots of motivation..lots!

      my finace is always telling me how hot and sexy i look to him but i do not FEEL good and i am doing this for ME. it is not easy...but is is easier than feeling so overweight!

      please check in here often. read, read, read.......gear yourself up, pick a starting date and JUST DO IT GIRL!!!

      you are the most important person in the world and no one can do it for you....but you CAN do this! YOU ARE SO WORTH IT!

        Hi and Welcome! I'm a second time around person too. I'm finding it slower to get it off. But hanging in there, I can do it, and I know you can do it too! We have the Second TimeAaround Club forum here (STAC); check it out. There's a lot of us and there's lots of support with great advice.

          Welcome. You've come to the right place for encouragment to get healthy. Being active with others who are doing it and cheering you on is the best motivation you can get. You'll find lots of support here. Best wishes...and keep us posted on your progress!

            Hello and welcome to the board. Glad you decided to join in with us.

            Yes... it can go slower the second time around, but be assured that the weight will disappear if you persevere. It just takes a little bit more patience. Check out the Second Time Around Forum for lots of support from people who've fallen off and climbed on again.

            Use the board. Post often. Ask questions. Join in with things. Everything helps and it gets easier as you go along.

              Hello Kyiala, good day to you! I'm going to tell you what I tell my son when I help him with his guitar playing. The reason you can't do it is because of that one little word you use. 'can't'.

              Doesn't that word look lonely, look how small it looks: can't.

              Try this, hon..... CAN. I CAN DO THIS!

              You believe in yourself, you can. We believe in you here. Listen, your story and my story, other than male and female, no different.

              I'd go to there store, grab a bag a chips and a candy bar at the checkout for the ride home.

              I'd go to McDonalds for the family, grab an extra large fry for the ride home.

              I'd go to the pizza place, grab an extra bread sticks for the ride home.

              I probably ate a 5th meal a day for years on that 'ride home'.

              Insanity total insanity not to mention expensive. Diet coke, don't even start, 12 pack, couple 4 -5 2 liters, back floor board of the car always crunching when kids got in because of the cans..... sound familiar.

              Look at me now. It's been almost a year. I have lost 75 pounds, I have lost 10 inches off my waist, I went from 3XXXXXXXX shirts to XL. If I CAN do this, believe me, you CAN to!

              What do you want to accomplish? Think about this, take a pad of paper and write down some goals. Long term and short term. Take your picture. Tape that picture to your fridge and mirror. Every time you want to eat, look at the before and after pics here on the board, look at that picture on your fridge and mirror. These are things you CAN do to make this work for you. They are tried and tested. I believe you CAN turn 'can't' into CAN.

              Positive attitude, detemination, motivation.....and most importantly FOCUS.

              Come over to the Second Time Around Club....hang out with us. We've all lost weight but strayed off plan and lost focus only to gain it back 3 fold by the help of others.

              Hop in the I CAN train baby!!! Derail that 'i can't' one. Step into the light!!

                WOW so guys I woke up this morning and read all of your responses and, I see I am not alone everything you guys have said sounds soooo familiar.And now I can say I am ready!!!!!!!!! I CAN do this!!! Not only that but I want to do this. So today is the day that I start the rest of my life. Thank you everyone for all the words of encouragment I really needed it. So thank you for accepting me, and letting me know again that I can do it and with your help I WILL!

                  Kyiala, welcome to the board! It's great that your BF loves you just the way you are. This is about how YOU feel, and how YOU look to yourself. Atkins is a complete lifestyle change, with healthy eating, just limiting the carbs. You know it works, you can find your resolve to stick with it. Come around the board often so we can see how well you're doing!
