  • 2nd timer - starting again

    Howdy,

My name is Joe ... some call me Curly Joe...

I started on Monday. It's my second go 'round. I did this 4-5 years ago and lost 32 down to 218 lbs. I stayed below 230 for 2 yrs then drank beer and ate my way up to 261 as of last Friday. I have been thinking about doing Atkins again since about 250 and 261 was the kicker. My goal is 220 then continuing down to 200. I long for 36" pants.... I'm 6'1 and 37 years young.

I think much more about health at this age and know that if I dont make a change in my life now health wise I will end up 300+ lbs and have a heart attack. This is the most serious I have ever been about being healthy.

My plan is to stay on induction for 3-4 weeks then switch to OWL. After 6 days I feel great, have not had the flu, minimal flour and sugar cravings, and have lost 4-5 lbs. One of the things I feel I need to work on is to decrease the amount of meats I am eating - I feel I still am addicted to food.

I have a post over at the menu forum - lets compare menus. I could use some help.

Good luck to all of you! - I plan to post pictures and get one of those tracker graph thingamajiggers soon.

Hi Curly Joe! Why do they call you that, do you have curly hair or is it all the curly fries eaten pre-atkins???

Welcome to the board. Regardless of what anyone else says, this is truly a health way of eating. Most people's blood pressure and cholesteral go down eating this way. At 37 you've made a wonderful choice to become healthy!
