  • I recently started the induction phase

Hi everyone. I started the induction phase on 4/15/07. Today is day #4. I have always had trouble with being a little overweight. I started Weight Watchers when I was only in 3rd grade. There are two reasons for following Atkins right now. One reason, of course, is weight loss, but the other reason is I have hypoglycemia. The only way I seem to be able to control my low blood sugar episodes is to avoid sugar all together.

I ate the Atkins way about 3 years ago with great success, losing about 35 lbs. But, as I started eating sugar and simple carbs again, my craving starting getting out of control; and so did my hypoglycemia.

The first two days have been difficult for me, but by yesterday evening (day 3), everything became easy. Today I woke up 1-1/2 lbs lighter! I know it isn't much yet, but it made me happy and encouraged! By the way, I am historically a slow weight loser, even with the Atkins eating method.

I spent the better part of yesterday reading all of your posts and I feel like I know y'all already. It is good to meet everyone.

    Tamara

Hi there Tamara. Welcome! Congrats on the start of your weight loss. You seem to have a great attitude which is half the battle. If you stay focused on the prize you'll see goal and certainly improve your blood sugar issues.

Feel free to ask any questions you might have. We're good at giving advice... hopefully we get it right a lot of the time!!!

              Happy losing!
