  • Nice to meet you all!

    Hi,
Thought I would say hello as I spent ages on here last night reading other peoples posts. It felt rude not to say something as everyone else is so open

I just started induction on monday and I'm hoping to lose about 37 pounds throughout this process as well as feel better physically and mentally in general.
I do have a couple of concerns that I really hope some kind soul could help me with.
A lot of the breakfast foods seem to be egg based and I can't eat egg at all - does anyone know of any other recipes?
Secondly, how long does it take before you notice some change on the scales on average.
Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope to be able to share my progress with all of you and celebrate all your successes too.

    Bex.

Welcome to the board, Solenne... this a great place for motivation and information.

You don't have to eat eggs at all if you don't like them. You can eat anything you like for any meal. (Atkins friendly food, of course!) This morning I had a burger wrapped in romaine leaves for breakfast.

We don't have to worry at all about eating the "traditional" breakfast foods. If you're not a big breakfast eater, just something small would even be fine - a piece of cheese or something like that.

    Good luck to you!

Hi Bex! Welcome to the family. Great to have you join us. As for noticing changes - I'd recommend you to take your measurements. The tape measure has become my best friend with this WOE. Its so exciting to see the inches dropping as well as the weight. There's lots of things you can eat for breakfast. Since you can't eat eggs - the good news is that its not mandatory that you eat them. Check the list of induction foods and have whatever sounds good. Left overs from the night before's dinner, tuna, veggies. The other day, I had cheese and sausage for breakfast. Be creative.
      Starting Date 3/12/04 285/165/145 - F

Welcome to the ADBB Bex! Glad to have you aboard.
Like the others said... you can eat anything for breakfast that's legal for the phase you're in. It doesn't have to be eggs. It doesn't take long for the "typical breakfast" way of thinking to change... nor does it take long to get used to eating meat, fish, veggies and cheeses for breakfast either.

It's hard to say how long it'll be before you notice your weight loss on the scales. Everyone loses at a different rate and it can depend on many many factors. I'd urge you to measure and go by that rather than by the scales, which can be evil at times. Many people here have dropped clothes sizes while not showing a loss on the scales.

Don't hesitate to ask for advice if you need it. We're all behind you.

          Hi Bex,

I started Induction a week ago tomorrow. It's awesome to have other newbies to chat with on here, in addition to the great advise and support we get from experienced members. I think the weight thing on the scale varies from person to person. Personally, I dropped weight within the first 3 days. What I've been told is that in order to see the changes that we desire, you must follow the Induction rules, no exceptions. Once I started really following the rules, I felt better, and my jeans looked better! As far as your egg question goes, I would listen to the previous advice given. I went on an egg frenzy for the first 4 days and by yesterday I was just plain tired of them! I had chicken and a little cheese for breakfast this morning, and I'm planning on having some sausage tomorrow. Check out the recipe threads. There are some super yummy ideas on there. I can't stop looking and cooking! Good luck and we are all here for you! We can do it

Thanks for the advice. I will try to think of breakfast differently from now on! As for the weight loss thing, I couldn't resist trying it out ( just bought some new scales today!) and I've lost 3 lbs so I'm hoping that this is only the beginning!
