  • Hello from Somerset, UK

Hi everyone I'm on day 3 of induction, I found the first 2 days very difficult with hunger pangs but now I'm getting into it!

I lost 10lbs with Atkins before, I have got to lose quite a bit of weight to quality for fertility treatment and my first appt is next week so I'm quite worried! so I'm hoping I can find a way of life that fits me. I've been on weight watchers so many times and just given up because being hungry makes me very miserable and I can't handle it long time.

This forum is fab, so many inspiring stories and tips I'd like to join in with you all in the future.

    My menu for today:

    Breakfast: 2 x boiled eggs.
    Snack: Pepperami stick.
Lunch: Omelette with sausage & onion, small amount of grated cheese.
Dinner: Roast pork, broccoli and butter.

Hello near neigbour. I am only an hour or two up the road from you in Sunny wiltshire! Welcome to the board.

    Rich

Stay away from the pepperami as its processed and also stay away from Sausages (especially in England) as they are quite often filled with bread crumbs and other high carb fillers).

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

Hey Hanloje! Welcome to the board. Since you've eaten this way in the past, you must know the drill. Your induction menu looks good but I think you may need to add a salad in there each day as well! You should have 2 cups of "salad veggies' off of the acceptable list and one cup of other veggie, like your broccoli, each day! At anyrate, you're off to a good start!

Thanks guys, I got the sainsburys organic high meat content sausages, don't taste that great but they're 0.4g carb so I figured this would be OK!!!

I used to run a pub in Wiltshire!!!!! this is a small place!

I will give the pepperami's to the dog then!!

            Hi Rich -

It was (and probably still is)! The Old Inn, Allington, between Tidworth & Salisbury on the A338....

            Your stats are amazing!

So Rich, given that you are in the UK what are your top tips for supermarket buys? I know that Lidl are good on the cheese/ham front!!! I'm still at the stage where it takes me 2 hours to do a shop as I'm reading all the labels!

Hanloje, the biggest tip I can give you is stay away from the processed foods and just stick with real food. Does that make sense?

                    Re: Hello from Somerset, UK

yep perfect! I've been sticking to roast meats, chicken, pork, lamb or beef or sausages (once per week but low carb) ..... sure I'll get the hang of it soon enough, I did last time and I did love not being hungry!

Eating out is more of a problem but our local pub does rump steak salad or chicken and bacon salad so I can pick those in an emergency!

                    Thanks for your help

Its easier to eat out on Atkins than it is on any other diet. As you can ask for things to be served with veg instead of chips every where you go. Plenty of choices on all menus. I love this diet!
