    Hello Everyone!

    I am so glad to have found this site. I have been lurking for a few days and reading up.

    My name is Tanya and I am wanting to lose 45-55 pds. I am on day 4 induction.

    I need to go buy a book tomorrow. Not sure if everything I am doing is right.

    I havent lost any weight yet. Bit discouraging~

    I have been eating cheese, meat, veggies, olives and I have had the bars- I havent had one today- I am going to cut them from now on. i also have been trying to exercise a bit. Need to do more.

    My daughters 18 mths and 7 yrs do keep me busy and on my toes!

    Very inspiring to see everyone's great stories.

    Tanya hello! Welcome to ADBB. Glad you de-lurked and decided to post. You'll find the board a source of good low carb advice and encouragement, I'm sure.

    You made a very wise decision to ditch the bars! They stall very many people. Although Atkins Nutritionals claim they're ok for induction, they are not. Mostly, they contain ingredients that are not on the induction list. The fact is that A.N. is a business and as such they are more interested in their $$$ than in your good health. Dr. Atkins himself only advocated the use of the bars in emergencies.

      Welcome to the site, Tanya. I know you didn't post this in review my menu, but I did notive a lack of veggies in your food listing. Be sure to read the Induction chapter well -- I tried initially doing this diet without guidance and ate all the wrong things. It happens.

      You'll get there. In time, this diet will be old habit and the pounds will be melting away. Glad to have you here.

        Hi Tanya! Welcome. We're glad to have you join us. You'll find lots of motivation here with posts on health/life issues, challenges, journals, recipes and lots of people to support you all the way.

        The best thing to do is to form a plan of what you are going to eat, when you are going to exercise, take your measurements and write out what you are going to do when you hit obstacles. Keeping visuals is a good idea too, such as photos of yourself at the weight you want to be again, photos of others at a size you want to be, inspirational phrases and sayings....or anything else that motivates you!

        Post often and keep us updated on your progress.

            Hi Tanya! Welcome to the board. I'm glad you're getting the book. I do hope you're having a clean induction. If you're unsure about something, please ask! I'm sure many will chime in to help you out.

            Good girl, ditching the bars! There's plenty of legal treats you can eat, even in induction, to satisfy a sweet tooth. And, in a few days of eating this way, you will probably lose some of the sweet tooth anyway!
