  • Hello!

Hi, I have done the atkins diet about a year ago. I lost 15 lbs in one month and then after that I slowly started to eat the carby-warbys again. I know that now I am definitely determined to stick to this diet. I am tired of spending so much money on my clothes and how I feel and look. You all are my motivation! Thank you!

Well I am a big eater. I will eat plates of food with alot of RICE A year ago I tried to start the diet and stick to it but I have failed tremendously because it was me, my brother, my sisters birthday in the same week. I could not control myself and gave in to all the sushi that was on the table plus the cake. Then we had leftovers for a few days and that's how I ruined it. I told myself not to do it but I did it.

I never learned how the atkins diet really worked. I just went by what I was told and it worked. An old friend told me I could eat all the foods that I wanted that has no carbs. I have been looking through the stickied threads learning how the diet really works so I plan on to make it this time. I have another friend that I have not seen for four years that reads the atkins books, etc. She lost 65 lbs and kept it off for 3 years. Hooray for her! She is willing to help me through this like I know the rest of you would.

        Re: Hello!

Hiya Jamie! Welcome. Yes, of course we're willing to help you through... and it's awesome that you've got a friend to help you too. Why don't you ask her/him to lend you the Atkins books... or better still, get a hold of your own copy. Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) is the one you want - the 2002 edition, which is the one the board goes by. It's really helpful if you understand how and why this way of eating works.

Keep us updated on your progress. We're here for you 100%.
