  • Hello from Louisiana!

I am not just new to Atkins...I am new to the whole dieting scene. I have been slender my entire life. We moved back to Louisiana a little over two years ago and my eating habits sort of went South with me. I don't think they make food here that isn't fried! I also had my gallbladder removed in October of 06. Since then, I have gained 15 pounds. It is almost pool weather and I am supposed to be in my sister's wedding in June. I ordered my dress as a size 4! My husband did the Atkins diet about 2 years ago and dropped 50 pounds. So, I decided to give it a try. Today is my 6th day. I was 128 pounds when I started and just weighed in at 118. My goal is 114, so I am almost there. I had a rough night last night as it was my first time during the diet to have some stomach problems (diarrhea - yuck).

So, Hi all and I have already learned so much just from readin the forums and recipes.

Hi Tamaryth! Well, if you've never had to really worry about your weight you're in a great position! As you know from your husband's weight loss, this works! It's also a healthy way of eating. By the time you're at your goal you will be eating from every food group. All healthful, whole foods.
