I've tried Atkins before, but never for more than a week. Last time I lost 10lbs in a week. This time my committment is to go 2 full months with no cheats and no stopping. My best friend is getting married June 30th and I think that will be my target day to let myself go off the diet for a treat...then home and back on. But as an emotional eater I think I need a date that I can tell myself I can 'cheat' so this diet doesn't feel like I'm giving up things FOREVER. maybe when its a habit I won't feel that way anymore!
I've been exercising for 2 weeks. And I was eating on the Body for Life plan. But I had more success with Atkins so I'm going back to an eating plan I am more familiar with and find easier to maintain.
I will be exercising 5-6 times a week
using the Body for Life exercise plan. My husband is doing the exercise plan as well - but he is looking to build muscle. He has NO fat to lose. *sigh* I'm the one with the pregnancy weight and the addiction to sweet carbs (cookies, cake, pasta with lots of sauce)
I've created a spreadsheet of goal weights and rewards. I also identified 3 goals that deal with the plan.
A reward for a clean induction phase.
A reward for 1 month of no skipped workouts
A reward for 2 months of no skipped workouts
It feels like this is going to work this time. I've been having some success, I have motivation and determination.
last night I took a few digital photos (shudder) and that will serve as motivation as well. I've never done that...regular photos are scary enough so I avoid the camera at all costs.
So, that's my big long TMI intro!!! LOL. I'm hoping to find motivation to stick with it here, I've never had a support other than my husband and for someone in that good of shape...its all a little foreign for him!
oh, I'm 280 now and at 6ft tall. My goal is 189...but I'll reevaluate that when I get to 200lbs. Have a great day everyone!!!!
