  • New to the site... but not to Atkins!

    Hi everyone!
My name is Courtney, I'm a 25 year old living in Portland, Oregon. I wanted to introduce myself to everyone on the site. I have been on Atkins 2 other times in my life... each time successfully losing 20 pounds. The last time I was on it, I gained back 10 of the 20. But I have kept the 30 pounds off for about 3 years. I still have quite a bit more to go, after gaining about 70 pounds with a pregnancy in 2001. I officially restarted Atkins about 10 days ago, and at my week check in, I had lost 2.4 pounds. I am adding in exercise and just bought the Hip Hop Abs system, I think I'm gonna go try that as soon as I'm done typing here. Anyhow, I have a few before pictures, and will be taking new pics every 4 weeks or so. I also have some hard copies of when I was 30 pounds more than I was now, but I'll need to find a scanner to post those. Nice to meet everyone!
    Courtney

Re: New to the site... but not to Atkins!

Well, thanks. No one ever believes me when I break down and tell them my real weight. When I was 240 and I got a personal trainer, I told them I wanted to lose 90 pounds. They basically laughed in my face and told me there was no way there was 90 pounds of fat on my body. Then tell me why the scale says 240??? I was about 150 pounds in high school and still not thin by any means. Around a size 14 pants. But I think the major change is that I've gained massive amounts of muscles since the baby in '01. I used to carry her everywhere, and then my arms got bigger! Now she's a bit too big for that, but the muscles haven't gone away (nor do I want them to, I want to be buff!! hehe)

I did the Hip Hop Abs cardio DVD tonight and it was fun! I was nervous beforehand if I'd be able to make it all the way through, but I did no problem! It definately gave me a good workout too. And after the DVD, I was so pumped up that I brought my kiddo on a jog/bike ride to the park. Yay for motivation! Later...Courtney
