  • I'm so excited!

I am so thrilled that I found ADBB. I don't know the in's and outs of your group yet, so forgive me if I make any silly mistakes. I have done Atkins before, with success about 5 years ago, although I think I may have not followed it as closely as I could have. This time around, I have more weight to lose. I gained almost 60 pounds a couple of years ago following a car accident. I began induction 1 week ago, and have lost 10 lbs. so far. I think it was mostly related to TOM and water retention, but I'll take what I can get. I am making an effort to exercise regularly, but sometimes it's hard to get that motivation up. Most weeks I bike about 30 miles, over 3 days, but I'm trying to increase my duration and intensity.

    Here are my vitals

    Phase-induction
    Weight 205/195/160

    am I missing anything?

    Thanks,
    Fayefaye

Welcome Fayefaye! Glad you found us here at ADBB! You'll find it an awesome place for good low carb advice, support and inspiration.

You're so right to exercise. It's definitely a necessary part of Atkins if weight loss is your goal. If you find it hard to get motivated, I suggest you join an exercise challenge here on the board. It's surprising how much these challenges help in making you feel you're not plugging away all alone, and in keeping you charged.

Have you read the book? Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002 edition) is the one the board goes by. This was the last one that Dr A wrote entirely, so hasn't had others messing around with it.

      Happy losing!
