Hi everyone -- this is my first time ever trying Atkins. I'm 27 and single with no kids by the way. I've heard of this plan before, but never dreamed of doing it since I love bread and pasta! For years, I've been on and off Weight Watchers. It wasn't until my weight sky-rocketed a few years ago and I reached my all-time heaviest of 240 lbs. January 2006 was a turning point for me. I started back on WW and lost about 26 lbs from Jan to Aug, but then got off track and gained back some. Then I started back with WW Jan 2007 (notice a cycle?!?
) at 224 lbs and lost down to 215 lbs about a week ago. I got very
with WW though since it seemed for the past few weeks I was gaining and losing the same 1.4 lbs! I realized something had to change. Believe it or not, I went in the Dollar Tree to pick up some things for church camp and browsed through their book selection and bought Atkins for Life to check out. I skimmed through most of it, but the part about how Atkins is beneficial to those with PCOS and prediabetes caught my eye since I struggle with both. I was always a size 10/12 up until my Sophmore year in college. The pounds piled on it seemed...a couple of years before then is when I started having irregular TOMs to the point I didn't have one for four or five years (my craziness I know, but was scared to go the doc for some odd reason). Anyway, with all those female issues, I ended up having a breast reduction Dec 2003. You would think that then at 208 lbs after the surgery, I would have felt great and started to lose but no...I got busy and stressed with college, life, and later teaching and let my self go to a degree. I've always been someone who loves fashion...it has killed me having such a limited selection of clothes! Why are plus size clothes so unfashionable for the most part!?! Back to my weight issues, so I bought the Atkins book and decided to give it a try since it was such a structured diet plan. I stayed on plan with WW, but with the freedom of choice WW allows I think I made too many unhealthy food selections that were not helping my health issues at all. I'm on Day 4 and eventhough I feel a bit draggy today, I am on top of the world with the fact I'm already down 7 lbs this morning from my WW weigh in last Wednesday!!
Heaviest ever = 240 lbs
Beginning Atkins = 215 lbs
Current = 208 lbs
Goal = 150 lbs
*~Mini Goals*~
*Fit into a cute brown linen skirt I bought a few weeks back by Father's Day weekend (start of my church's youth camp)
*Drop below 200 lbs for the first time in ages!
*Take a trip to Italy with my sis when I reach my goal!
