    Hi everyone

    just wanted to introduce myself

Iv just spent 4 gruelling days on the cambridge diet. Day 1 and 2 was ok, but 3 and 4 i found my mind slipping away. I registered in ketosis yesterday on my ketostix so thought i cant live without food and constantly thinking about it, so ill do atkins. after complete abstinence, im looking forward to it.

started this morning with eggs and havent thought about food since. actually will go for dinner after writing this.

I know just how important these forums are and i am looking forward to the support i know ill need.

will be doing lots of reading on here and hopefully some posting in the next few months. i wish u all well

      Re: Newbie alert

thank u Sandy im glad i found u all

the cambridge diet is 3 shakes a day and nothing else. 420 cals a day. i couldnt cope. how people do it for months is beyond me but the weight loss is really rapid like 4 stone in 3 months but lots fall off the wagon and restart or leave and put it all back. but thats with most diets. i hope the atkins is working well for u

Hiya Ally... welcome aboard! Glad you decided to come over to us here at ADBB. I hope you find Atkins to be all you wish for in a way of eating... it is for most of us.
The Cambridge diet sounds really gruelling. I would've thought people would go into starvation mode on so few cals, which would slow down weight loss.

Anyway, post lots and keep us up to date as to your progress. We're with you all the way!

          thanks Sally

im hoping this will be the answer to my insulin resistance. the 4 days on the other diet got me into ketosis so at least im starting this with no cravings

Hey Ally! Welcome to the board. You've made a terrific decision ditching that Cambridge diet and entering the wonderful way of eating (WOE) on Atkins. This is about real food and lots of it! Your Cambridge diet sounds more like a starvation diet to me. No need to starve!

Do you have the 2002 DANDR book to read? It would be the best purchase you can make. If not, please read around the induction and ongoing weight loss forums to get you started properly.
