  • I have to admit it...I am amazed!

Ok...so here goes my little story.

I am 32 years old. I weigh roughly 249. I started Atkins induction phase on Monday. Today is Wednesday. WHY DONT I HAVE ANY HUNGER?!

I just woke up from a nap. (stayed home today due to headache...I imagine all the sugary crap is leaving my system and my blood is sad to see it go....)

I am usually STARVING when I wake up. I had to actually make myself eat something.

    Is this normal???

Re: I have to admit it...I am amazed!

Hello I "re"started this sunday and I have the same thing. I'm not near as hungry as I used to be. I think a lot of mine was cravings though and eating out of boredom.
I went through the sickness from it on day 2. I'm doing a lot better now so hang in there.

Appetite suppression and curbing of cravings are great side effects of Atkins. I'm glad you are experiencing some of these early on in your WOE. There are usually some rough days on induction when your body is detoxifying, but then your energy and enthusiasm pick back up and it only gets better from then on!

      Keep up the good work!

: THANKS so much to both of you ladies for replying! I think this bulletin board is going to be a huge contributor to my success. I am actually shocked at the amount of respect, encouragement and honesty that everyone on this board shows!! I mean, the before and after pictures are awesome! (I have to admit...I took before pictures...but I am so ashamed, I dont even want to look at them, much less post them).

Thanks again! I will be checking in as often as I can...

You guys are awesome and inspiring!!

(btw...can you guys tell I am SO from the 80's??? I love the word awesome!)

Re: I have to admit it...I am amazed!

I did that too. I got my daughter to take before pix this weekend and I was like ACK! NO! I was unaware of just how "horrifying" they'd be. lol
If mine ever see the light of day it will be after I've lost some so I can at least feel like theres been a change.

This board is super encouraging. I've been on some boards even mod some and none have ever been this nice and supportive. I'm used to people cussing each other out not saying nice things.

          It's a welcomed change.

Yeah, I am used to the meanies on myspace! (which by the way I am totally addicted to!)

I see you have a little tattoo on your arm. I have a couple! I love them! I want more...but, I want to be thinner so I can get a tramp stamp. HAH, how lame!

            Just kidding!

I have daughters! I have a 17 year old daughter, a 14 year old daughter and I have a 7 year old daughter! I am married. My oldest daughter has a daughter! so...I am a mo-mo. (dont even think about saying the G word!)

Re: I have to admit it...I am amazed!

Hey, good for you guys for taking BEFORE pictures! You'll be so thankful you did, especially when your clothes start falling off but you'll still wonder "Gee did I really lose any weight?" You'll have those trusty before pics to prove that YES YOU DID!

Another word of advice: Take starting measurements. I wish I'd done this! I have no idea how many inches I've lost over my body except for my waist. The only reason I know that is because of a belt I'd purchased right before I started--It was a few inches too small, now it's way too many inches too big, and it looks like I've lost 14" in my waist. If I'd had beginning measurements, I would know how many inches I'd lost off my entire body!

Also, for before pics, take some in sports bra/bike shorts or undies. Now you DON'T ever have to show these to anyone, but you will be so glad you took them! Just keep them for your own reference--this way you can track changes in your tummy, back, thighs, etc. I finally took bike shorts pics 2 weeks ago and I regret not doing it in the beginning.

Oh yeah, and welcome to the board!

                Hi Julie!

I created an excel document that I entered my measurements into. I measured my neck, my arms, my chest, my waist, my thigh, my calves, even my ankles!!

I want PROOF that I did this!

Thanks so much for replying. My daughter and I were actually looking at your pictures earlier and my daughter just said "wow'.

She is starting on Monday. She only has about 20 lbs, but she is excited knowing that I will already have a week done.

                Have a WONDERFUL day!

hehe ok I sent a request on there. Mine is private too because I talk about family and post pix of my family so I'm selective.

mmm enchiladas now that would be a weakness for me. I don't see how you made them without eating. lol I thought I was doing good fixing potatoes and bread for my family. Mexican food is my all time favorite so I gotta figure out how to low carb a bunch of stuff eventually.

We had taco salad tonight it was really good. I usually use doritos but this time I did the deluxe american cheese cooked in the microwave until crisp and used that instead. I think it was 100% better than before. lol
I love when something works out for the better. I did kinda miss the beans though.

Re: I have to admit it...I am amazed!

                        Ok, well get this...

I live in San Antonio. Do you have ANY idea how much awesome mexican food is available at any given time???

It's enough to make you cry.

I didnt eat enchiladas, but I did take about 1/4 cup of the meat sauce and cheese, and put it over 1/3 cup of spinach...

                        and that felt like indulgence.

I tried the recipe on here about cinnamon toast crunch...the one with whipping cream, cinnamon, splenda and water...and OH MY GOSH..I almost choked.

My little girl liked it though.

I added you on my myspace. YAY!
Now you can see my page, and the way I am so obsessed with Blue October.
                        and cats. :
totally absorbed with both of those...

I went walking for almost thirty minutes earlier this evening.
I didnt want to, but I MADE myself!!!
