  • Cheers !! To a New Beginning

I started today and I think it went well for lunch I had 2 grilled chicken breasts and for dinner I had a grilled chicken breast and a whole cucumber with a little bit of balsonic vinegarate dressing on it. Is this OK? Also on the measurements people post with the measurements I seen one person lose 5.5 inches in their first week. What is being measured (Their Waist)?

    welcome to the board, moose!

usually and most times when you see a loss in inches as a total, it will be a combined number. they may have lost 1/2 inch off the waist, 1/4 inch off a thigh and so on.

    grilled chicken is great!
cucumbers are on the salad veggie list for induction and you can have 2 to 3 cups daily. it's best to measure so you are getting the proper amounts. as for the dressing, check your label. if there are no sugars. on page 127 of the book you'll see ...
"For salad dressing, use oil and vinegar (but not balsamic vinegar, which contains sugar) or lemon juice and herbs and spices."

Welcome to ADBB MooseRLP! Glad you found us here.

Just a tip... spread your three cups of salad/veggies throughout the day. This reduces blood sugar swings, hence cravings.

If you haven't already read the book, it would be a good idea to get a copy. DANDR (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) is the one you want... the 2002 edition. This is the edition the board goes by as it was the last one written entirely by Dr A, before his death, and so hasn't had other "pens" messing around with it.

Happy losing... we're behind you all the way!

Hi Moose! Welcome to the board! Lesson learned about the balsamic! Read labels! I love balsamic too, but it is loaded with sugars.
