    Well, I really don't know where to start. I guess I will tell y'all a little about me first. I am 25 years old. And, the mother to three amazing little princesses. I am also the wife to one amazing man. I don't know what I would do without any of them. My whole life revolves around them. I try to do everything I can to ensure their happiness. Which brings me to PART of the reason why I am ready to lose this weight. I have reached my highest weight ever a whopping 260lbs. I NEVER thought I would be this big. NEVER. When I was in highschool I weighed 160, and I remember thinking what a pig I was. I hated my body, man what I wouldn't give to have that body again. I had my girls within 4 years, actually a little less, and that includes two miscarriages. So, basically up until two years ago...I was pregnant constantly. My girls are 5, 4, and 2. And, it has come to a point in my life where I can't get out and play with them like I want to. I get so tired. We even went to the movies the other night, and although I fit...the seats were tight on my butt. And, that is soooo embarrassing! I don't want my girls to grow up with a "fat mommy". I know they would love me regardless, but I can't help but wonder if they would be secretly ashamed of me if they were older. I also would like to be "sexy" to my husband again, he is such a great person. He says he doesn't care what I look like, he loves me all the same. But, I know deep inside me that he would be more attracted to me if I were smaller. Anyway, I have dieted so many times in the past, it isn't even funny. I really know I can do this, but at the same time I know I need lots of support. The reason I am here. I was told about Atkins from a cousin of mine. She had lots of results from it. So, I went and got me a book of my own and have read most of it. I know it says you should read the whole thing before you start, but I have read all of the induction part. And, the very beginning of how it works and why it is good for you. Today is my very first day of starting Atkins. I really hope this works for me, and looking through this place and seeing some other people's results has really excited me. I just hope to have my own success story one day. I would like to lose about 120lbs. I want to be healthy is the main thing. I want to live to see grand babies, and maybe even great grandbabies. I don't want to die from a heart attack or diabetes because I didn't do something about my weight. I am here to stay, and would appreciate all the support anyone can offer. Thanks for taking time to read my story, or part of it anyway. I look forward to getting to know you guys, and well accept any advice that any of you give. Just steer me in the right direction.

    Hi Mrs. Pink,
    Like you, I am a mom that wants to play with her children and not get winded! I started induction 3 days ago and am pretty excited about the future now. We both have alot to look forward to! Lost over 40 pounds on Atkins in 1999 (before my 2 kids were born) the first time, and hope to lose even more this time. Good luck! will be looking out for you posts

    Goal # 1 Reduce my waist enough so fitting into a pair of jeans will not make me feel like a sausage with a tight string cinched around my bulging waist.
    Goal # 2 Have my thighs become less familiar with one another. I am tired of them rubbing up against each other when I walk.
    Goal # 3 Be able to see my back without those flabby rolls under my bra line, you know I could store things in those roll creases, a book to read, small toy etc
    Goal # 4 Run a 5k in Sept. and continue this WOE.

        Man I feel like I could have wrote nearly every word up there. The highschool part really hit home and I can't remember how many times I have thought the same thing. At 145 in highschool I felt like a PIG compared to my friends I even had one girl tell me I'd be pretty if I just lost 20 lbs. So I dieted my whole highschool life. It sucked! I'd love to go back to that weight or those days with the mentality I have now I think I'd tell that "girl" where to go.

        My husband and I dated when I was thin and has been with me throughout. I agree that I've put everyone before myself and my health. It's easier to take care of others than yourself for some reason.
        He also says he loves me the way I am but I know as well that he would be thrilled to have me "thinner" again.

        I'm on day 13 induction and weight loss aside I have never felt this energized! So it will definitely help you chase your little ones around once you get rolling.

          what an amazing, personal post, Miss Pink - thanks for sharing! It seems like you are wanting to do this for all the right reasons and what better motivation than your children!

            Welcome Mrs Pink! Thanks for your nice introductory post. Glad you decided to come on over to ADBB. It's a wonderful place to get encouragment and friendly advice.

            You did great to buy your own copy of the book. It really is fundamental to understand the science behind this way of eating.

                Hi Mrs. Pink! yay for your friend who turned you on to "the book" and the Atkins way of eating (WOE). It's always great to have a real live pal doing this with you, and the support you will find from the board is pretty incredible too! Please let us know if you need any questions answered.

                In the meantime, look all around the board and make yourself comfortable. Join in some challenges and have some fun!

                  Hi mrs. pink.. Welcome to the board.. I hear you.. I have missed out so much on my children's lives..now I want to get healthy for any grandkids that may come in the years to come.. You can do it!
