My name is Marian, I'm 46 years old and I have two sons of 19 and 15 years and a daughter 15 years old. I live in a small town near Amsterdam.
I started with the atkinsdiet in february 2000 and have been doing it ever since. I'm also a moderator/administrator of a Dutch mailinglist and a Dutch bulletin board about atkins.

I was in Amsterdam last September and just fell in love with the city! ITs soooooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful! Loved all the water ways! I bet its beyond words at christmas time!
You mentioned you've been on Atkins since 2000, did you reach goal? How are you doing!?

Thanks for the welcome. I had some bad luck with that I'm afraid...
During the first year I lost 30 kilos (that would be about 66 of your pounds I think) and I only had 20 more pounds to go.
But then I became ill and had to take medication and gained it all back in a few months. It will be another two years before I can stop taking those $#^@&# pills, hopefully I'll loose the weight again then.

Of course you'll be able to loose the weight again! Never giving up on yourself is one of the keys to success!

Hi Marian and welcome!!

Unfortunately, some fo the meds that are designed to take care of our disease and illness aren't always compatible with the weight loss we were used to when we began Atkins. I'm experiencing something similar right now with medication.

While it's frustrating, I still feel better, so I stay with the plan as written by Dr. Atkins and monitored by my physician.

Glad you joined us here - it is always great when another expert joins our virtual Atkineer family. My grandparents (all of them) emigrated from the Netherlands (Friesland to be specific), so it is always nice to see more Dutch people around. I can read it mostly, but am way out of practice to actually start conjugated and speak at the same time.
