    :wave HI EVERYONE...HAPPY 2005!

CalifGal here...actually I live in Springfield, Oregon, but I am a California Gal at heart...lived there most all of my life... :yes

January 1, 2005 -- Today is the day I start my Indution Plan...I am scared. I tried it before and failed...I am still afraid of all the fatty foods. Plus I have a lot of obsticals that always sabotouged my plan before... :confused

    * I will be 62 years old *I am in menopaus * I have lots of pain from arthritis so exercise is limited *I take meds for asthma and high blood pressure....* I am on a very low food stamp budget. :sadblinky

But I have to try again...I feel like a balloon. I want to live to see 62. I have 2 grandbabies I want to watch grow up. :sarcasm

I need all the help I can with menu ideas, low budget shopping, low impact exercise etc.. :help I cant measure myself and I cant get a before photo. I just have to have a patient attitude. ha

    Welcome to the ha

I'm ten years younger than you and weighed nearly 500 pounds when I began Atkins a year ago. I've been menopausal since my mid 40's. I suffer with R-A and currently I'm experiencing medication adjustments due to the removal and cautions concerning Cox 2 Inhibitors from the market. My formerly high blood pressure and my asthma are well controlled and I've been able to reduce my medications for those conditions and my diabetes.

My advice to you is to stick to this plan of eating. It can be done with careful planning and budgeting. Eggs, tuna fish, frozen vegetables or in-season vegetables, cuts of meal and chicken wings and thighs are often on sale. I frequently buy a roast or a chicken or turkey when they are on sale and enjoy many meals from one effort. Also, by not drinking coffee, diet pop and junk food, it's amazing how much money I don't spend that I formerly did spend.

You can ask for ideas for Atkins on a budget in the Induction forum. My guess is that many of our members will respond with their solutions menu planning in their households.

So, welcome to ha Look over some of the forums for woman, etc.. I'm sure you'll find a lot of support and understanding for your issues so they don't have to be obstacles.

    Best wishes.

Hi there and welcome to ha

Great to see you here. There are lots of recipes in the recipe section of our board. The link is at the top of the page... And so many of them are really for the budget minded, as most of us are.

If you don't have a tape measure, try using a string and make a knot where your current waist line is..then the next time you measure you will have something to go by.....

You will also be able to judge by the way your cloths fit.

I wish you all the luck in the world. I ditto Irish...take a look around the forums..the Womens section is awesome and so is the Century club.

Looking forward to reading your posts!!!

      Hugs,Tammy
