    Hi!
    I'm new to this and need to make some extra pounds dissappear! Two of my children are getting married in 2005 and I need to drop 30 pounds before May.

    I'm always on the run with real estate, dental hygiene and 2 elderly parents. My dad (84 yrs old) just had 5 bypasses done 2 days ago.

    I find that my comfort foods are chocolate, and breads when I'm stressed and cereal and milk.

    I've tried to do the Atkins approach before, but got discouraged and lost focus.

    I need ideas that are quick to make and easy to follow. I need some guidance with samples of things to eat.

    I need a buddy!

    Welcome to the ADBB. This is definitely the place to get motivation and encouragment to lose the excess weight.

    Make sure you read the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution edition 2002...take your supplements, drink water and exercise. You'll feel great and in no time you'll see the weight start to disappear. This has been the best thing I've done for myself. I've been on Atkins since March 2004.

      Dream said it all ... read DANDR, it's an invaluable tool on this way of life.

      Stick with whole foods and stay away from the low carb commercial products that are intended to entice you. You have a goal to make and we will be here to cheer you on.

      In looking back on my journals, I was pretty boring for the first week or so until I got used to the foods and realized this would work. Do yourself a favor and make a copy of the Acceptable Food List for Induction and the Rules of Induction (both are linked below) and don't deviate. You'll be wonderfully amazed at your results.




      So, keep us apprised as to how you are doing ... This is a great WOL!

        yep read your book and eatt according to the lists in chapter 11 remembering to only eat to satisfy your hunger and not your eyeballs,tastebuds nor empty belly space, drink all your water, do the mandatory exercise part of Atkins, take the supplements you need based on your body and your food choices and you too will be a big loser. :yes

          Everyone has given you wonderful advice!!! Don't forget to measure yourself so when the scale demon isn't cooperating, you will have proof of your hard work!!!
          You will be at goal in no time!!!
