    Hi everyone,

I am starting the atkins diet today. i have been gaining weight for the last 2 years and am ready to take it off. i have been on and off various diets during that time but the most successful was atkins so i am starting over.
i have joined a gym as well and want to get into shape not just lose weight.

i am 28, 5'4" , 168.8lbs and live in toronto. I was always "chubby"but in my late teens i ballooned up to 199lbs then lost weight over2 years and hovered at 138-140 for 3 years. I was still wanting to lose 10-15lbs but was fairly happy at that weight. 2 years ago my mother died and i can clearly see i lost control over food at that point. But I am ready to get serious again and I am sure my mother would approve.

I have been looking the site over for the past few days adn find it very inspiring. well, i really wish everyone on the site the best of luck and look forward to posting with everyone!
