  • Hi, I'm new...and looking for support, I have a lot to lose!

Hello, I'm Kimberley. I have so far to go, but I started Atkins this week, and stuck to it and lost 11 lbs! I'm really the only one in my family with a major weight problem, so I'm looking for support here.
I am 29 years old. My highest weight was 340, and now I am down to 296. Right now, my first mini goal is to get to 260, with my long-term goal being below 200. I work a very physical job, but I am laid off for 3 months at a time, twice a year, and it's very hard to not gain during those lay offs.
I'm 8 days into induction, and I think I've done very well. I'm trying to walk and do some exercise videos, too.
I want this SO BAD, is there anyone on here who has lost as much as I have to lose?

Hi Kimberley! Welcome aboard... glad you decided to join up with us.
Don't worry about how much you have to lose. Here at ADBB we have big losers and little... but we all have the same goal and we're all hoping to travel steadily in the right direction.

If you do the plan as Dr A prescribed, you'll soon be a big loser, I'm sure. We're here to help you and cheer you along the way. I hope you find the board as inspiring as many of us do.

Post lots and keep us in the know as to your progress. We're behind you 200%!!

ABSOLUTELY! You can be very successful and already have been to some degree! I lost 70lbs in 7 months way back when I first started. It's not as fast now that I'm re-starting, so my advice to do is do it right the first time!! You're gonna do GREAT!!!!

Kimberley - yes lots of people can relate to you. I had 145 pounds to lose when I began 3 years ago. I've lost slower than some - but I am going to make it and so can you! Jump into the forums, make friends and make a plan to succeed. You can do it. Having friends who support you 100% and share in your journey is the secret to success. You'll find lots of encouragement and support here. Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.

Hi Kimberely! We all have/had varying degrees of pounds to lose. The important thing is that we are all here for the same reason! I agree with Dreamof145, jump into activities on the board, challenges, etc. You will find that you will make many friends, and it will help keep you on track!
