  • New to the boards, hello :)

    hey all! im andrea and i am new to the boards. have been sort of lurking and reading over posts, an abundance of useful information here and i think being active on this board could really help me make better progress! here is my story:


    im 24 years old. ive been overweight since i was about maybe 10 years old or so. the akward little fat kid hehe. i remained this way throughout middle school...thinned out a LITTLE in high school but definately wasnt thin. my highest weight was 185 my sophomore year in college.
    my weight has ALWAYS been something that has consumed me, and i am constantly 'on a diet'. it is a constant source of stress, and a constant cause of my self consciousness and sometimes depression.
    i lost about 30 lbs on LA weight loss, and felt great. i went up and down, back and forth for a few years....my thinnest was about 152-153 or so. my goal from the beginning was 140....but i remember feeling good about myself, and feeling pretty happy about my body at that weight.

    ive sort of let myself go since then, for one reason or another. i am 5'8, and was at 163lbs. most recently, all of my clothes (even the ones i considered my 'fat' clothes) have been tight, and ive felt SOOOO uncomfortable in my own skin. i was desperate. many people i know have been on atkins and had good things about it. on 6/12 i started my induction period after reading the book. today is my 7th day and im feeling great! im currently at 158, and i am praying the scale continues on its downward spiral!

    anyways, im sorry about the book i wrote. if youve read this far, thank you! i hope to get to know some of you, and become an active poster. i have MANY questions, and will be making MANY posts im sure within the next few days hehe. i am looking to learn a lot from all of you, and love the inspiration! until then!

    Hi Andrea. You have the right attitude about being active here, making friends to keep yourself motivated as you do the program. There are lots of challenges, posts, support and people that will help you. Best wishes, keep us posted on your progress and if you have questions...just ask. There are lots of knowledgable people here who want to see you succeed!
