  • New and enjoying every bit!

Hi ppl! My name is Ana, 37yrs-old, married and mother of a beautiful toddler whom is 22 months-old now. I have been fat all my life, and started fighting on my own against extra weight when I turned 18. I have had my ups and downs, like everyone. But, since I became a mother, I got the fattest I have ever been and, of course, not happy with the idea. I need to shed about 80lbs and I think Atkins' diet will be the best option. I tried it once long time ago and didn't work for me because (now I realize) I was making a lot of mistakes. This is my third day in Induction and I am very happy with the results so far. I have lost 10lbs already. I know it is retained water mainly, but it's still 10lbs off my body!

There's a lot I need to learn on this BB, so I will be surfing a bit and see what I can improve or add to my plan.

    Hugs to everyone!

    Ana B.

                  hey Ana

10 lb is amazing, bet you feel great!! i just started too and am already down 5 lb on day 3. But even better than that is feeling happier and more energetic and clear-headed.
The book makes so much sense, and the more research you do, the more you realise just how bad for you a carb-heavy diet is...for me, cravings disappear when i remember just what that junk does to my body.
                  Good luck!!

Hi Ana, Like yourself my friend I too have been fat all my life, and started fighting the battle of the bulge for the past 20 or so years and I know how hard it is believe me! and also just like you... I too, have had my fair share of severe ups and downs emotionally and have many times been so low that I thought I would never manage to shift the pounds, But, since joining the ADBB and doing the plan I have been able to drop 16.2 pounds in just under 5 weeks. Keep going and I wish you all the best.

                          Hugs to you too Ana

Helen, thank you so much for your encouraging words. It is always an ease to know that you are understood and supported. I need to find some time to surf a bit on ADBB and get all the help and hints I need to carry on. Being a working mother of a toddler can absorb most of your time each day!

                            Hugs, Ana B.
