hey guys! new here
my name is alfonso and i'm 21 years old. im about 5' 7" and i weigh in at about 236 on good days and 250 on bad days hehe.
i have tried atkins before, and lost some weight, but a family problem threw me into depression and i gained it back.
things are cool now. and i'm going back on atkins right now.
i slowly worked myself into induction over the past two weeks, the first week i just cut down mildly on the intake of carbs that i was eating. and this week is the first week i've been following a pure induction diet. alot of eggs, some deli meats, ALOT of water, vegetables and salads and butter haha. it's been pretty good, so far.
i've also been exercising pretty regularly 5 days a week, a half hour to an hour of jogging and also some low weight lifting, crunches, and a couple other yoga-esque/aerobics type things.
i've made the decision that when i reach my goal (150-140 lbs) i'm going to join the track team!
i love atkins because i can actually DO it with so much stuff that i have at home. it isn't a fancy diet or anything. i dont have to buy new and weird gourmet stuff. just alter the stuff i eat. and when i realized how much bread and cake and cookies and pop i drank in the past, i get disgusted with that anyway, and i don't want to eat it. who needs all those insane carb chemicals in their bodies anyway? has anyone ever read the back of a pepsi back? it's SCARY to say the least. atkins is an easy and successful approach at a lifetime diet change. and that, i find cool.
so yeah, this is my first week in induction. last night i had a mild headache, but it cleared up this morning. i'm about to go enjoy a couple slices of roast beef and cheese for lunch. and maybe some tuna too. i dunno! i haven't had any trouble with constipation that i can think of, but i'm definitely going to supplement soon with a fiber subtitute of some kind.
so i congratulate everyone on this board! i hope we all reach our goals and even more LIVE with them for the rest of our lives.
