    Re: Howdy!

Hey there Emma. Welcome to you. Well done on the 2 pounds. Excellent start. Now .. have you read The Atkins new diet revolution? Very important to get the booka and read it. Not only will it tell you what you can eat on induction, but it will help you to understand what changes in your body. You need to understand that so that you know this isn't like a conventional "diet". It's a way of eating. But if you stick to induction and really go for it --- cravings will go, energy will increase and the pounds will fall off. All the best to you. It's a great decision you have made. Lotsa luv.
Start weight: 103.6 kg (227.92 lbs)
Goal weight: 80 kg (176 lbs)
    Now weighing in at ...... 95.6kg (210.32)
    Total loss = 8 kg (17.6 lbs)

      Re: Howdy!

      Hi Emma and welcome
...Have you read the book? (newest edition)? If not, try and pick up a copy and read it cover to cover.
...Until then, if you go to the forums link, choose Atkins Phases, then the FAQ page, that will help with alot of your questions. These two FAQ's What are the Rules of Induction? and What foods can be eaten on Induction?, will be very helpful.
...Don't cry over "only 2 pounds", that's a great start. I use the mantra, "If I had gained (fill in the blank) pounds I would be crying". Remeber it took you 9 months to gain the weight.
...Have you started to excercise yet? That will help.
...You also are not trying to loose a whole lot of weight, so it will fall off more slowly. Just keep on following the plan, and you will be very happy with the plan.

      Best luck

          Re: Howdy!

We're glad to meet you! There are recipes on the board if you look around, ck out the stickies the others mentioned and read the book. Some who have started out having really slow weight loss have had yeast problems. Read up on it in the book and there's a forum for yeast problems. If not and you have questions, post your menu and somebody can help you out.
          Good luck!

            Re: Howdy!

Hi emma williams! Welcome to the board. As the others have said, reading the book iw a great first thing to do! You can read thru the induction forum as well because for the next 2 weeeks, that's how you will be eating! It's very easy, just be sure to read labels. Hidden sugars and things like that can really hinder your loss, especially if you think you're eating right!

2 pounds is great for starters! Keep it up!
