  • Hello!!

    This is my first time posting. I've been hiding in the wings and reading everyones posts for infromation and motivation. I have been trying to do a clean induction since the beginning of June, and I keep cheating and starting over. The first time I made through 7 days before cheating; and I had lost 8 pounds!!! So I am starting to post as a way to hold myself more accountable. Today was a good restart and I hope I can keep it going. I have 30 pounds to lose and I hope I the Atkins WOE can take me there!

    Welcome! Hope you lose all the weight you need to! I have started yesterday, but have started over many times before!

      Sometimes it takes a couple of times to get your head around it. You know what to do. You can do this. Keep us posted.

          Welcome to the board .

          ..As you've been told, it sometimes take a couple of trys to get around this WOE. I have to ask you though. Have you gone through the "FLU" each time . Ugh! That's enough to remind me not to cheat. You might try to use Fitday too, and post a link at the bottom of your signature page. This way everyone can look to see what you've been eating. This can help you stay honest too.
          ..What kind of foods are you cheating on? Maybe you can find some type of substitute to keep you going in the right direction. Ask the board, we're great at coming up with ideas.

            Welcome to ADBB!
            I'm sure that posting here will be an enormous help to your determination. Everyone is supportive and we all understand the difficulties of beating the carb monster. Take it day by day... with baby steps. You'll really find that once you get past your two weeks of induction and settle into this way of eating, it gets easier by the minute.

                I do have a fitday account, and I will post the link later. I was hesitant in making that public, I also posted my picture in the pics forum to hold me accountable as well. I don't go through the flu everytime, I think this is only because I exercize A LOT and may get that glucose out of my system that way. The only problems I have with my cheating is that I get away from home and nothing is readily available for me to eat, so I eat what's there. My last cheat I ate a little debbie brownie and you know what? It wasn't even good. It was just EXTRA sweet and made me really thirsty. If I would have gone home and made some ground beef with green beans and mushrooms(mmmmmmmmmmm), I would have been much more satisfied. I also cheated with some Carb Smart Butter Pecan Bryers; I bought it and had like 2 cups ( a serving is 1/2 a cup) before I decided I was getting carried away and just threw it in the trash. It was inappropriate for induction anyway. I am really commited this time to having a COMPLETELY clean induction so I can really get an accurate idea of what my critical carb level is. Hopefully my exercize will allow me to have more fruits and yogurt as I reach those levels; I really miss fresh fruit and its the season for it so I really want some fresh cantelope and strawberries . Thank you for all of your support and kind words so far!
