Long story VERY short....................
I did Atkins 10 years ago, liked it, had some success, then quit. Did low-carb on and off for the next 6 years, no success since I was playing around, quit. Recently, tried WW, watching calories, not really low fat(I couldn't go back to that after doing Atkins), no success, quit. My endocrinologist (I've been hypothyroid for 15 years but take Armor Thyroid and feel good except for being a little tired, levels are good) told me yesterday that she wants me to do Atkins. I asked her, you mean low-glycemic (she had me on this before)? Or Atkins-Atkins?
She said ATKINS!
So.......we're up to speed. I have a lot of weight to lose. Like everyone else says, I can hardly believe it is this bad. But I always said if a doctor told me I had to do Atkins, I'd do it. So.........this is a test to see if I was truthful to myself or not.
Lots of great info and inspiration on this board. I'm actually really excited to change to this WOE because I felt so good on it.
My DH is TOTALLY supportive. He has no weight issues but is a healthnut and eats low-glycemic anyway. So he will just eat what I fix and then add some healthy carbs to his diet, no biggy. He wants me around for a long time so he has been very concerned. I tell ya, without his support, this would be so hard. I was thin (130) when I married him 22 years ago, but he has shown me so much love, inspite of me being extremely overweight, that I would be telling a lie if I told you I wasn't doing this partially for him...and my three kids. I couldn't have wished or prayed for a more supportive family.
So there you go, nice to meet all of you............this is first day of induction even though I started immediately after my Dr.'s appt. yesterday. Let's get going!!

It tempted me a little, but when everyone had the amount they wanted, I threw the rest in the trash so I wouldn't even take a spoonful. Yes!!!
