  • stating 7-5-7 today

i am a 20 year old from charlotte, nc. i was on a very low calorie diet and lost about 5 lbs, but that was it, just sick of starving myself. i have cut soda and smoking out of my life for the new years, i have lost about 20 lbs on soda alone, so why not go the whole 9 yards and diet. starting today, not worried about cheating, i work in a kitchen, which is kinda hard but not, can have a steak or wings or chicken anytime i want, so i think it will be easy. i drink like 6 liters at work of water, just cant get enough, i have been taking my dog for hour walks everyday. i will grill out every sunday and cook a bunch of meats, also most likely going to buy wings to go when i leave work (half price). I got through of week of eating 2 lean cuisines and that was it, so this is going to be easy. so hopefully this will all work for me and i can get down to my goal weight at this point of 200 lbs

here are some pics of my starting date

Welcome to the board. You sound very motivated!
Lucky for you, you can get yummy steaks and chicken whenever you want! Take advantage of that, and remember, even though you're drinking lots of water now, you may feel like you need more once you get started.

Good luck and keep us updated!

      Welcome!
this is a fun forum to be a part of... very motivating....although you sound very motivated... It's great that you can have steak, chicken, etc.. whenever... that should make it easier... what about veggies?
Don't forget to read the book... it's important to know how to do this right so you know what to expect and how to add carbs correctly later on...in OWL...
Congratulations for choosing healthy living and healthy eating early in life!

day 2 is good, bought some ketone strips and had a medium color in them, no weight loss yesterday, walked an hour today, going in to work at 4, going to have a london broil plate, delicious, with peppers onions and mushrooms, like a fajita, had grilled wings yesterday, delicious, and they make a brocoli slaw at work, so i am going to start to eat that, which should cover my veggies. but so far so good, just cant wait to start losing that weight

ok, so this is how we make it, we shred broccoli stalks, carrots, it goes with mayonaise and stevies dressing, 1 carb per serving in the dressing. it gets old after a while but i need to eat it, i wouldn't say i am a chef, a cook, i got a culinary degree but work in a tavern, its fun, snack on bacon, some cheese, pieces of chicken, steak, its fun.

it just sucks i already know a cheat date, sept 21, my 21st bday, i have it all planned already, but i will see what i can do, i dont think it will phase me

Uh Oh! You have the cheat planned? I hope not! I don't know where you live, but you refer to a 'tavern', but if you're in the U.S. turning 21....straight alcohol doesn't have carbs!

Brandon, thanks for the update on the broccoli slaw. I think I might try it, but with very little carrots.
