  • Heyyy there

    Hi everyone-
I am new to this forum, and am really looking forward to getting support from all of you and hopefully encouraging you all. I have gained 15 lbs in the past year living abroad and now have come home and need to seriously revise the bad eating habits I acquired. I just started the diet today, and kept my carbs at about 15 grams. I felt well today, none of the fatigue I expected from suddenly cutting out sugars. I think this next week will be crucial, so let's see how I do!! Excited to meet you all.

    Hey there Fizzy... welcome!
Typing your name gave me a nostalgic pang (but a nice one)... my Grandmother's nickname was Fizzy, and she was just that... totally fizzy and exuberant!!!

Glad induction flu hasn't kicked in for you so far... hopefully you'll escape it altogether.
Ask any questions you might have about low carbing the Atkins way and take a look at all the fun/motivating activities on the board. Feel free to join any that take your fancy.

Post often! We're looking forward to seeing you move happily towards your goal.

Hi Liz! Welcome to the board. I'm glad you didn't experience fatigue not everyone does. But most people, after a few days, do feel really energetic! Definitely keep us posted and remember to eat your veggies! I will see you around the board.

          Re: Heyyy there

          Thanks everyone-
Am I bound for "induction flu?" That sounds intimidating. How long has it lasted for everyone here? Felt fine again today. I must have lost some water weight b/c I am down three pounds. My diabetic friend and I dined together this evening...we're a perfect match for eating out! I hope I don't get bored of the food and stuck in a rut!! Anyone have a favorite induction recipe?

Hey there Fizzy. Welcome to you. Not everyone gets induction flu hon. 3lbs gone - WOW. That's excellent. Check out the recipe section on the board - lots of different things to try. That's the great thing about Atkins - because you can eat an abundant range of foods, you are not likely to get bored. Don't forget - it isn't a "diet" in the traditional sense. It really is a way of eating. It can be a bit of a mind switch at first as you have to get your head out of the old ways of measuring and restricting quantities etc. But you sound really motivated. So glad you have a friend who matches your way of eating. Makes things easier. Enjoy yourself hon. All the best to you.
