  • Ever wonder why you didn't do this earlier?

    Hey all....

Thought I would introduce myself. I am a 33 year old mother of a 4 year old daughter and 3 year old son. I've never had a weight problem until my doc put me on Lexapro after a friends' death (I couldn't sleep at night).

I packed on 20 pounds almost instantly.

I've been diagnosed with hypoglycemia and had severe gestiational diabetes. Nearly everyone in my family has sugar issues of some sort.

Anyway - tried Atkins in 03 when "everyone else was doing it". =) I quit right away.

The other day, I couldn't snap my jeans and I remembered Atkins again. I am KICKING myself for not doing this earlier! I have been on the diet for a week now and have lost 7. I am not moody. I am not having my typical "highs and lows" from sugar....I am LOVING my chicken wings and cream sodas (diet orange soda with heavy cream).

I am seriously kicking myself for not doing this earlier. I had a huge crash 2 days into it. I could barely get out of bed. I almost quit....I am SOOO thankful I didn't!

Anyway - that was a *really* long way of saying thank you for all of your support. Whether or not I need to lose any more weight - I am going to remain sugar-free!

    Hey there,

Welcome to ADBB Congrats on your success so far.

I kick myself for not trying it in 2001 when my friend was doing it. I was really dismissive, but then again she was doing her own version...

It sounds like this WOL is really suiting you

I wonder why I was asleep during period I gained 50 pounds, I didn't notice I was obese, I had other things on my mind...and obesity is just result of stress I was exposed to.
