  • New and a quesion!

    Hi everyone - I'm almost done with my first week of induction (so far I'm down 3 pounds, which is really exciting!!). I've read that because my goal weight is only 25 pounds away I may not lose as quickly as some others on here - is that true?

    I'm wondering if someone can help me out with a question about the Atkis shakes... I've been having one for breakfast, but read on one of the posts that that could be slowing my weight loss... is that true?

    I am also a type 1 diabetic and am wondering if there are any others on here who are a type 1?

    Hey Annie!

    Well, lets see...3 pounds in a week is great! The shakes should only be used in emergency, they do stall many people. Please read up on sugar alcohols. They play a big part in shakes, atkins bars etc. It's much better to have whole, fresh foods.

    Regarding speediness of weight loss...everyone loses at a different pace. If you stick to the plan and move yourself up the food rungs appropriately, you are almost assured gradual, continuous weight loss.

    Regarding diebetics....there are many on board both with Type I and Type II. You can check out the diabetic forum where you can meet others in your situation, as well as get lots of information.

        WELCOME!!!
        I have found that maybe they do slow things down a little, BUT,i'd rather lose weight a bit more slow than none at all.I only have a shake or bar every couple days or maybe even just one a week, but for them gotta have something sweet fast days they are a life saver for me. You just have to figure out your own body.
        I also exersize EVERYDAY, i saw a big change in how fast i lose by running and cardio.
