  • Hello everyone!

    Hi,
I'm new here. I am on day three of induction.
I had a question. I have been eating celery and with it I have enjoyed a little bit of blue cheese dressing...is the dressing okay or no? It only has two carbs I believe and 1 gram of sugar.
I haven't gotten through the book...I'm still working on it.

I also had a question....After doing the Atkins diet/nutritional approach, can a person go back to eating regular foods without gaining a lot of weight back? I'm not talking about going back to old bad eating habits, I mean a healthier eating regime-if you could call it that- than before going on Atkins?

    Thanks

    Re: Hello everyone!

Hi Hoping! Welcome to the board. Let me address some of your questions:

    1. 3 days of a clean induction is awesome!

    2. Celery w/ blue cheese is fine, however make sure there's no added sugar in the dressing (Marie's makes one that has no sugar). If it's the natural sugar that's fine, just no sugar!

    3. Since you don't have the book yet, Please check out both the Induction Forum Ongoing Weight Loss forum. The purpose of Atkins is to change your eating habits. You will be moving up the rood "rungs' in a prescribed order. When you have attained your goal weight, you will be eating from every food group. Just no sugar, white flour etc.

This is a healthy way to eat!

How much weight are you looking to lose?

        Re: Hello everyone!

        Thank you for your responses.

I have read some of the stickies, but I have to admit I've mostly been reading people's success stories and looking at the progress pictures. It's very encouraging.

I looked at the label on the dressing. It has sugar listed as an ingredient. It doesn't say it's "no sugar added."
Does this mean my whole induction is thrown off?

I'm currently at 213. My ideal weight is 110, but as a more short term goal I think I want to start by increments of either 15 or 20 that way I don't get discouraged. I've tried this diet before but it was hard to stay on it, but this time I'm determined!
I'm tired of being and feeling fat and frumpy. I'm ready to look and feel fabulous and healthy!

          Re: Hello everyone!

Hiya Hoping! Welcome aboard! Glad to have you among us.

Ditto what the others said, and I'll add that the book you should be looking for is: Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) 2002 edition. That's the one this board goes by and was the last one that Dr A wrote in its entirety before his death... this means it hasn't had other "pens" interfering with his principles.

Re sugar in the dressing... no, your whole induction isn't thrown off... it can't have been more than a small amount.
Just carry on with your induction and make sure you check all labels carefully for hidden nasties.

I'm sure that very soon you'll be feeling and looking just the way you want: Fabulous and healthy. We'll help you!

          Happy Atkineering!
