    Hello,
My name is Trish Brown and I am 30 yrs old. I currently weigh 155lbs and started induction 3 days ago. I am 5'1 tall so my goal weight right now is 125 lbs with hopes of being 115 again someday. I am trying to lose at least 25 lbs by March 12th. A trip that my boyfriend has planned for us to Myrtle Beach and I think that he is going to pop the big question there. That is only 10 weeks. Is it possble to do? Thanks for the support in advance.

hi Trish! and Welcome to ha

No one can guarantee that you will lose 25 lbs. by March. You get out of the Atkins diet what you put into it.

My question is: how much will you weigh in March if you do nothing?

Have you read the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 edition? If not, check out Walmart and get a copy. This way you will understand the correct way to do the diet.

There's a bunch of wonderful, knowledgeable people here on ha that can help you on your weightloss journey.

For salad try Ranch, Oil and vinegar or Blue Cheese

I meant that I bought the book, sorry about that. Hey I just checked my strip and I am in the large section. Very exciting. Thanks for you help and by the way you must look great by the number for your weight below. I hope that I do as well. I feel horrible at my weight right now. This is 20 lbs over the heaviest that I have ever been to include when I was pregnant. Thanks for your support.

            Why....Thank you very much <blush>!

Just remember those strips are for reference only! The more water you drink the more Ketones you are washing out of your body. :nod If they register at all, you are in ketosis. Which means you are burning fat for fuel. The sticks do not know if you are burning body fat or the fat that you just ate.

If you can....try to stay off the scale until your two weeks of induction is up. I want to see that Whoopie post. Also, remember that you can expect to lose between 5 and 10% of the total that you need to lose during Induction. Have you taken your measurements yet? Do that and write it down in a little notebook. I take mine on the 1st of each month. Oh and take a picture each month.

Keep reading your book and keep posting here on ha and I know that you will do well.

Oh yeah.....join us in the Book Reading Club and discussion it's in the Challenge section.

Keep it up, you'll do great.

              Trish,

Welcome to the board. As far as losing the weight by a certain date, be careful. When you do that and things aren't working out you can get discouraged and try drastic things which will only hamper you in the long run.

Just do the plan by the book and the weight will come off. Maybe not every ounce you want to lose by your date but a bunch will. Besides if you're a pound short why have that disappointing thought in your head at the happiest moment of your life.

              Good luck!
              Jim

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?
