  • Almost end of day 1

I'm new to all of this posting stuff, but after reading all of the stories on here I'm very motivated to stick with Atkins. It's almost the end of my first day. I'm at 153 lbs right now and my goal if to get down to 120 lbs. I gained about 30 pounds over the last two years after having a bunch of knee surgeries. I'm tired of not fitting into my jeans!

So, thank you to all the people for their inspiring stories. If anyone heas any tips or helpful adice, please share!!!

Welcome to the Board and to Atkins!

Advice--Read the book--Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 version. It helps you understand how this works and gives you knowledge to stick with it.

Also, read the stickies at the top of different forums, they give great advice and inspiration.

Ask questions on the board if you have some. Also, check out the recipe section and Linda's Low Carb site. Having new choices helps keep this WOE (way of eating) from getting boring.

Best of luck and happy low carbing!

Hey mlrober! Welcome. I agree, it's a great thing to read the book. While you can find tons of information here on the board, to have the book in person makes all the difference.

The FAQ forum also has lots to offer about induction, ongoing weight loss, etc.

      Best of luck to you!

            Warm welcome to you!
I'm gonna join the chorus of "read the book". It's the best advice we can give, as it's so important to understand the science behind this way of eating. Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 edition is the one you want. That's the edition the board goes by as it's the last one Dr Atkins wrote before his death. It hasn't had other "pens" messing around with it.

You'll soon be mighty comfortable in those jeans!
