  • New to Atkining!

    Hello Everyone!
I'm Kristi, and I'm not sure where to jump in on this board. I've been taking a good look at it for the past month. I'm learning sooo much useful information. I'm really going to lose the weight this time. The before and after pictures are just amazing!!! Congrats to those of you who have had success and may I steal much inspiration from you!

WElcome to the board and the WoL!

To answer your other question... coffee stalls some people and doesn't others, some people would lose faster (even if they don't stall) if they didn't drink it, and others it doesn't affect at all. Basically, it depends who you are on whether or not to drink it. Personally, I would say if it's something you can give up easily, and switch to decaf, I would do that just in case... then again, I drink a lot of coffee regularly.

      Thank you!
You look gorgeous by the way! How much weight have you lost? How long did you do induction? How often/much do you work out?

        Re: New to Atkining!

Thank you. 140lbs... and what counts as "induction"?? I'm a repeat offender on falling off the wagon for a couple months (not going back to eating a lot of carbs, just enough to stall) and coming back. I am aware pretty much daily that if I hadn't done that, I'd be at goal by now... I workout pretty much every day - I take Sundays and some Saturdays off. Exercise is non-negotiable.

          Well, you look fabulous!!
I joined a workout place, I love the ellipitcal. I'm going to start back at that tomorrow.
That's what I seem to do in EVERY SINGLE diet I've ever done... fall off the wagon Family and friends don't seem to help... I guess I just need to be more focused! (Which is easier said than done!!) You're certainly doing something right!

            Re: New to Atkining!

Make it a way of life. I keep coming back to it... and keep the same habits the rest of the time. Like, if I veer, it's usually me eating a whole wheat wrap at lunch or something like that... not like, a sandwich, then cake, then whatever... you know? It's just not legal for my stage.

I did the elliptical for a while. If you can, weight training is really awesome. It makes *SUCH* a huge difference in overall appearance... I think it's like, a 3 size difference from when I was this weight before... something like that.

Oh! and keeping a journal, like, I have one in the journal chats section. Everyone is really supportive, you can write questions, or about what's going on, or about anything you want and everyone's fun and knows sooo much.

                  Re: New to Atkining!

                  Thanks guys!
I'm interested to know more about the journal boards. Things go on inside my head each day... questions like: "Can I have this?" "How do I keep track of this?" and I wish there was some where I could just write about how I feel and receive more motivation and support!

I like the weight training idea but it seems so intimidating because I have no idea what to do! Can you share with me what you do in a normal workout session?
