  • Starting Saturday!

    Hi! This is my second Atkins try, though the first using a forum for it. I have been on what feels like dozens of diets from fasting to calorie counting and Atkins is the only one where my moods didn't start jumping around and I didn't feel horribly deprived. Last time I hit a rough spot and ran back to beer and rice (my two fav. indulgences!) after losing 9 lbs. and am hoping that all the inspiring stories I have seen on this site will help me make it to the finish line!

    Three years ago I took a medication that helped my weight jump from 125-127 to a depressing 170. Ever since I have been unable to budge it more than 5 lbs. either way (excepting the one Atkins try). Here are my current pics (not so pretty but I have hope I can change that!!):

    Welcome! I think you're in the right place. I've only been here this week and just reading everything here... these people have been incredibly encouraging! It'll be neat to see how we both lose since we started about the same time!

      Even a similar weight loss goal! Good luck and let me know how you are doing, it may help to have someone to talk to through these first few days...

        I just decided to make a HUGE goal.... which is reachable. However, the 40 lbs is what I REALLY want to lose. When I make it that far I think it'll be just as easy to keep going!

        I hope I lose a lot during this induction phase. More than 2lbs I hope! I've tried a million different things and I always cave in. If you need anything at all certainly let me know! email address: kristi_cofo@yahoo.com

          Hi rocket! Welcome. Thanks for posting the pics of yourself right away, it's always nice to see a face with the name! You can start a thread for yourself over at before and afters and use that for posting ongoing pics of you in the weight loss process! go check it out.

          You can do it! Come by the board often so we can see your progress.

            Warm welcome Rocketgrrl! Glad you hopped on board.

            Tks for posting your nice pics. We're all looking forward to seeing the next instalment... which I'm sure will show your success! You did it before on Atkins... you can do it again!

            Get active around the board, make friends and post lots. There's loads of support and inspiration to be had here and it really helps!

              Welcome to ADBB! Always wonderful to place a face with the name! BTW....I think you look good now. But I hear what your saying!! Best of luck, and great to have you with us.

                Are you ready?!?! You start tomorrow! You better eat those cookies today... haha I would LOVE to eat a cookie My induction has been pretty good so far, no headaches. Whoo! I found out that the Journal boards really help. You can write about your day, what you ate, and then others can come and show you what you could do a little better or praise you on what you are doing right! It's a great place. You just go towards the bottom of the main forum.
